UK Tutorial Schools

Tutorial schools have not been around as long as the traditional schools. They concentrate more on tutoring (as the name suggests) students in the academic disciplines to prepare them for the university entrance examinations. They tend to teach in smaller classes than the traditional schools (especially up to the age of 16). They specialise in a lot of personal attention for individual students from the teachers and hope to maximise the potential of the students by this close supervision and care. Because the tutorial schools tend to focus more on academic development than physical development they have smaller campuses without the sports facilities of the traditional schools. Overseas students usually stay in dormitory accommodation but may have an option of home stay in some schools.
