Introduction

Bournemouth University is UK's #1 New University (Guardian 2009 and 2010). Less than 2 hours by train from London, Bournemouth is a town (pop. 160,000) located on the South Coast, it is a tourist destination, famous for its 12km of sandy beaches.

We are well known for graduate employability and offer work placement opportunities for both UG and PG courses.
BU is renowned particularly for Tourism (including Hospitality and Leisure) courses, and is highly ranked in this subject area, with the Bournemouth Hotel School currently under development. This will be the first fully commercial teaching hotel in the UK.

BU is also a SkillSet Screen and Media Academy (one of only 6 in the UK) and the Bournemouth Media School is highly regarded within this competitive industry, being the only Centre of Excellence in Media Practice in the UK.
In September 2009 the Executive Business Centre will be opened to PG Business Students. This is a purpose-built teaching facility.
