Introduction

Well, here is an interesting one. You will know that all universities in the UK are government funded. That is true apart from one exception - and that is Buckingham, the only private institution. Buckingham still has the same Royal Charter as all the others though, so is internationally recognised Tiny in terms of some of the huge monoliths that now exist, Buckingham has won awards for the way that it looks after its students.

What is really different is that they eschew the traditional short term/long vacation model and teach year round, meaning an undergraduate degree can be completed in just TWO years! They also accept junior college diploma students for postgraduate courses, so worth thinking about if that is you.

A fantastic location in one of the prettiest parts of the country, a university where you really can get to know everyone and some interesting courses. Buckingham is a good choice for students that don't want to just follow the mainstream.
