Introduction

The University of Leicester is an international centre of learning with a worldwide reputation. It was founded in 1921 and offers undergraduate degrees, masters courses and research programmes.It is one of a handful of British universities to feature in the world's top 200 institutions as ranked by both Times Higher Education and Shanghai Jiao Tong University and it is ranked 15th in the Good University Guide by Times in 2009. There is no surprise that many students from outside the United Kingdom choose to study here. We welcome students from more than 70 countries to study at our University. The University of Leicester is the Times Higher Education University of the Year 2008-9.
