Aberystwyth University
Established: 1872
Introduction
The first thing that anyone mentions when they have been to Aberystwyth is its absolutely stunning location. Set on the coast with a backdrop of the Snowdonia mountain range, this small, pretty Victorian town makes for an unforgettable place to study. They run a serious selection of programmes too, leaning towards the environment and social sciences, but with an impressive range of biology, physics and maths programmes too. A strong postgraduate business school provides courses in marketing, management and finance alongside an AMBA accredited MBA. Living costs are low too in this student-focused town, where the university is at the heart of everything. On the campus is the National Library of Wales, one of only three in the UK that publishers are legally required to submit a copy of all new books to - what a resource! Serious studies in a jaw-dropping location, what could be better!
